Gio Gonzalez aquired by the Washington Nationals

Gio Gonzalez, maybe the best pitcher that was left on the market, was traded to the Washington Nationals for four minor league players. If you know anything about baseball, then you know that the Nationals have been arguably the worst team in the past decade. But with rising stars like Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper, they soon could be a team to be reckoned with. Gio Gonzalez has had a pretty average career with 38 wins and a sub-4.00 ERA. But this young slinger has seemed to become more and more of a threat. In 2010, Gonzalez had 171 strikeouts. More than both of his first two years combined. But there is another big key thing that the Nationals need, Jason Werth. After a weak year in 2011, they're going to need him to lead the team and do what he did in Philadelphia.
